This is how I setup my UDIM grid before I start my UV workflow. UV labels can be quite useful when you have multiple tiles.

Under the selecting by type shelf you can find an option to select unmapped objects. Extremely useful when you have some lost pieces that for some reason didn't get mapped during your workflow.

I use this UNITIZE method quite a lot to unwrap complex tubes and ropes. You get some stretching sometimes, but they don't bother me and the result is super clean!
我经常试用UNITIZE 命令快速展开类似管子啊绳子啊这样的物体,UNITIZE 后选择一条UV切口,然后在UV窗口里面反选其他边缝合UV,配合straighten UVs命令拉直,方便!
